PSYCHOMETRIC ASSESSMENT
The centre conducts psychometric assessment of students to help the students make pragmatic and wise career decisions.
The assesment generally falls into three categories:
· Interest Inventories
· Personality Inventories
· Aptitude Tests
Interest Inventories
These are usually based on the premises that if you have similar interests to people in an occupation who like their job, you will probably like that occupation also. Thus, interest inventories may suggest occupations that the students have not thought of but have a good chance of being something
Aptitude Tests
This tool can predict with good odds whether a particular person will be able to be successful in a particular occupation or not. An aptitude test will tell the child if he is likely to do well in a subject. There are also aptitude tests which can predict success or failure in many different occupations.
Personality Inventories
These tools are sometimes used to help children with career choice by assessing the personality traits and realistically matching with the chosen career path. One can then gain the required skills ,once assessed.
